Emma had spent four years working toward a bachelor’s degree and a graduate school scholarship that could change her life. After losing her mother as a teenager and struggling with a difficult relationship with her stepmother, she viewed graduation as her opportunity for a fresh start.
The night before her thesis defense, disaster struck. Emma left her laptop unattended for a few minutes, only to return and find her stepmother holding it at the top of the stairs. Moments later, the laptop crashed down the steps, leaving the screen shattered and the device unusable.

During a recent video call, part of the incident involving the laptop had also been captured through an active recording session.
The Dean explained that Emma’s work had been safely preserved and that the university had already arranged a special defense session later that day. More importantly, the evidence strongly suggested the laptop’s destruction had not been accidental. Karen immediately realized that her actions had been witnessed and documented.
Emma successfully defended her thesis that afternoon and earned the scholarship she had worked so hard for. For the first time, her father was forced to confront what had been happening for years. While Karen’s actions damaged family relationships beyond repair, they failed to stop Emma from achieving her goals. Instead, the experience became the final chapter before she started a new life built on her own success and determination.
