79-year-old mom chooses comfy corner seat at Olive Garden – Then something incredible happens

Kindness often shows up in the smallest gestures—and a Facebook post by Yolanda Palacios is a heartwarming reminder of that.

Yolanda shared a touching moment from a dinner at Olive Garden with her 79-year-old mother and her 15-year-old child. Her mother chose to sit at the corner of the table where she felt more comfortable. As the food arrived, Yolanda turned to check on her mom—and was deeply moved by what she saw.

Their waitress, a young woman named Susie, was gently cutting her mother’s steak. “No problem, I don’t mind,” Susie said when thanked. “I have grandparents and I know how it is at times.” She stood for three minutes, kindly asking if each piece was okay and cutting the meat smaller when needed. Yolanda’s mother smiled at her daughter throughout the sweet interaction.

Yolanda made sure to tell Susie’s manager about her compassion. “This kind of heart is full of caring and compassion. It’s not taught by employers,” she said. “Susie deserves recognition.”

Olive Garden later shared Yolanda’s post, expressing pride in having employees like Susie who go above and beyond.

The story quickly went viral, with thousands praising Susie’s kindness online. “She is lovely with so much class,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “What a wonderful young lady. Her parents should be proud.”

In a world that often feels hurried and disconnected, Susie’s simple act of kindness reminded many that genuine compassion still exists—and it matters.
