Protective Order Granted for Family

A judge on Wednesday ordered the widow and two children of Charlie Kirk placed under protective custody after ruling that accused gunman Tyler Robinson poses an immediate threat. The order prohibits any contact between Robinson and the family, a standard measure in severe violence cases, heightened by the circumstances following Kirk’s assassination.

According to the protective order, Robinson is barred from “engaging in harassment, threats, stalking, or any other conduct that would place the protected person or designated family or household members in reasonable fear of bodily injury,” as reported by the Western Journal.

The 22-year-old suspect remains in Utah County Jail without bail. Although he may have access to a phone, the order prevents him from contacting the family directly or indirectly through phone, email, text, social media, or mail. The widow has stepped into the public eye, calling on supporters to continue her late husband’s mission of civil debate.

In her first public remarks since his September 10 killing, she warned that those who wished harm on him have “no idea what you have just unleashed.” She emphasized that the movement he built will continue, stating, “The movement my husband built will not die. It won’t. I refuse to let that happen.” She also confirmed that the American Comeback tour will proceed as planned this fall, with additional campus tours scheduled in the years to come. The protective order ensures the family’s safety while they continue honoring his legacy, balancing security with public engagement in the wake of a tragic event.
