I brought a dish from my late mom\u2019s recipes to my in-laws\u2019 family dinner last weekend.My MIL gave me a mean look and told me, \u201cGet your mom\u2019s food out of my house!\u201d as I put it on the table. I hugged my husband goodbye and drove to wait for him for an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Until he suddenly laughed out loud and asked, \u201cDid you hear the joke my cousin told at dinner?\u201d. The ride home was quiet. He\u2019s so funny that he should be a comedian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was only my third time meeting my mother-in-law and the second time I\u2019d been to a party with his family. My mother passed away a year before we got married, so my MIL never got to meet her.I have no idea where this anger is coming from. Now that my mom\u2019s memory was disrespected, I feel both ashamed and deeply hurt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s even worse that my husband doesn\u2019t care about how I feel and doesn\u2019t even try to apologize or acknowledge them.
